About Department

The Subject of Biochemistry started in the year 1999 and the Department of Biochemistry was established in the year 2004. It’s the oldest centre offering single major Biochemistry (6 Units) at the Under-Graduation and Post-Graduation level. The Department has been offering an Add –on Advanced Diploma in Food Science and Quality Control since past 15 years. Our Strengths, like the five elements of nature are - Earth – Our Institute Water – Our Subject Air – Our Staff Fire – Our Students Ether – Our Work Culture The Department has always been encouraging research culture from the under-graduation level as a co-curricular activity. Our students and staff members have published their research work in renowned National and International Research Journals. Under the auspices of autonomy, we have introduced the research component as a part of the curriculum at the SYBSc level.
