About :

Varsha joined the department in 1990, and through her career of three decades has taught most of the courses in the UG program. She is a recognized PhD guide in Microbiology and Biotechnology; and also recognized as a PG teacher for M.Sc by papers and by research. Her core area of research is bioprospecting for anti-quorum sensing and antibiofilm agents against devise associated infections. She has guided several dissertation projects on biofilm inhibition and recently has embarked into understanding role of PGPR in hydroponic systems. Varsha has research publications in recognized journals and has presented several papers in National and international conferences. She is the recipient of three University of Mumbai minor research grants and is a member of Board of Studies in Microbiology at the University of Mumbai.
