Government
Scholarships and Freeships
Applications
for the following scholarships and freeships awarded by the government should be
made in the prescribed forms available at the college office within a month of
the date of admission, or 15 days from the date of reopening of the college,
whichever is later. No student is eligible for the award of two scholarships
simultaneously although a student is free to apply for more than one.
State
Government Scholarships and Freeships:
The EBC Freeship Concessions through the Educational Inspector, Greater Bombay,
made available to those students whose guardians' income is less than Rs. 30,000
per annum; The Defence Service Personnel Concessions through the Educational
Inspector, Greater Bombay; The Freedom Fighters' Scholarships and Concessions
from the Educational Inspector, Greater Bombay; The Government Open-Merit
Scholarships from the Directorate; The Primary School Teachers'/Secondary School
Teachers' Freeships from the Educational Inspector, Greater Bombay; and The
Open-Merit Scholarships from the Directorate made available to non-Backward
Class students.
Central
Government Scholarships:
The National Scholarships from the Directorate; The Hindi Scholarships awarded
in non-Hindi-speaking states from the Ministry of Education, Social Welfare, New
Delhi; and The Science Talent Search Scholarships from the National Council of
Educational Research and Training.
GOI
Post-SSC Scholarships to BC Students:
The scheme of grant of the Government of India Scholarships to the Backward
Class students (SCs/STs/NTs/DTs/LIGs and STs outside the specified areas in
Vidharba) for post-SSC courses is implemented by the Divisional Social Welfare
Officer, Mumbai Division, Mumbai. All Backward Class students taking approved
post-SSC courses are eligible for the Government of India Scholarships. To
secure these facilities, Backward Class students have to secure from, and submit
in, the college, office their application forms (duly filled in) within 15 days
after the reopening of the college. For details pertaining to the determination
of eligibility for the Government of India Scholarships and the procedure to be
followed in applying for them, students are requested to contact the office
located on the ground floor.
