Microbiological Testing Lab

 

 

The FDA-approved section of the
Microbiological Testing Laboratory.		 The Department of Microbiology is another vibrant department of the college," was the remark made by the NAAC peer team which assessed Ruia College and accorded it a four-star accreditation grade. Sprawling majestically over an area of 5000 sq ft, the Department of Microbiology flaunts three well-equipped laboratories and offers the best of instruction at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Promotion among its students exacting entrepreneurial skills and an invigorating work culture are objectives that relentlessly govern its entire mode of functioning. The department has an independent Instrumental Analysis Laboratory, a plant tissue culture facility, a seminar room and a staff-room.

The department has all the necessary infrastructure it needs to conduct research programmes and analytical studies in varied areas of Microbiology, Phycology and Plant Tissue Culture. It also has the best of computational facilities and extensive Internet connectivity. Faculty members attached to the department actively collaborate with known industrial and research organizations and contribute significantly to the successful implementation of several important projects. The department's analytical services are frequently made use of by clients of the stature of Hindustan Lever.

The Laminar-Flow Unit

Among the department's ambitious plans for the future are the development of an eco-biodiversity net for microorganisms-that should help a better understanding of our microbiological heritage-and the development of incubator facilities for offering the best of encouragement to small-scale industrial activities in Biotechnology.
