RAMNARAIN RUIA COLLEGE, MATUNGA, MUMBAI - 19 DEPARTMENT OF STATISTICS Department of statistics of Ramnarain Ruia college was established in 1957 It is the first department in Mumbai University to offer statistics at undergraduate level for B.A and B.Sc . Prof. C.Y. Raosahib was the founder Head of the department ( 1957 - 1983 ) Dr. A.K. Iyer headed the department from 1983 to 1998.It is one of the two colleges offering statistics for both T.Y.B.A. and T.Y.B.Sc. classes. Mrs.J.P.Atre retired as a Head of Statistics Department in February,2010. She headed the department from 1998 till 2010. We offer statistics as a major subject for B.Sc. degree with operations research as applied component. The department has long tradition of excellent results having students appearing in the merit list of University of Mumbai for T.Y.B.Sc .examination.

· The Students of T.Y.B.Sc .demonstrate applications of statistical techniques(out of syllabus) in various fields using Power Point presentations.
· Guest Lectures by eminent statisticians.
· Remedial Course in Elementary Mathematics for Arts Students
