INTRODUCTION
Library of the college aims to cater to the information needs of the students
and staff members of the college. The library has over 110,000 books including
bound volumes of periodicals. It subscribes to over 121 national and
international journals. All bibliographic details of books, journals are
accessible through the campus-wide LAN. The library is rapidly building up to be
one of the leading college libraries in the country.
Library is also open to other academic users for
reference. Senior citizens in the vicinity
are also the members of our library.

Training Programs
 | As a part of user education library offers ‘A
Course in Computer Proficiency’ for teachers and students of the
college whenever the need arises. Purpose of this programme is to train the
users for using the online catalogue and surf the Internet successfully. |
 | Library also offers training to fresh graduates and post-graduates. |
 | Periodically library organizes a ‘Course in Computer
application to Library Management System’ for college librarians,
assistant librarians and library professionals in the city. Purpose of this
course is to give hands-on experience of the newer technologies, electronic
gadgets and electronic media to the participants. This course also provides an
opportunity, to the participants, to explore and evaluate the Library Software
available in the country. |
 | “Basics Course - in Library Science” is
another regular course organized by the library for the non-professional staff
of libraries in the city. A very popular program, many colleges depute their
library staff for this course. |
 | An yearly program for the Library Staff is
organized to train them for new environment owing to introduction of
technologies
 |

Computer Facilities
The bibliographic details of library documents can be accessed through OPAC
(Online Public Access Catalogue) from any of the work-stations available in the
college
Students and teachers can avail the facility to use CD-ROMs and Floppies
available in the library. They can surf the INTERNET in the library. Orientation
and guidance in search is provided if there is a need.


Collection
One of the oldest and largest college libraries affiliated to Mumbai University.
Library has a rich collection of 1,10,000 books including bound volumes of
journals. Library subscribes to 110 journals. Non-print material comprises a
number of CDs as accompanying material, many books in CD format, Back-runs of
National Geographic, the latest Multimedia edition of Encyclopedia Britannica
and the Millenium edition of World book Encyclopedia in CD form. The collection
of books is segregated for convenience in to three parts, Active, Passive and
Rare. Active collection has all the books relevant today. Passive collection has
the books with great intrinsic value but not very much in use for the new
curriculum. Rare collection comprises books belonging to 18th, 19th and early
20th Centuries. Most of them are in Marathi, Gujarathi and Sanskrit languages.
This collection has some rare Manuscripts and Government records etc. They are
stacked in an A C room to protect them from further deterioration.
